Medical Professionals Must Be Allowed To Raise Safety Concerns With Their Patients Without Being Interrogated, Sacked Or Silenced By AHPRA.
It’s time that the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) lets our doctors, nurses and other health professionals do their job.
More and more health professionals are speaking out about their safety concerns regarding the COVID-19 Vaccinations and government mandates, however AHPRA are intimidating them into staying quiet through bullying and threats of regulatory action.
AHPRA’s heavy-handed approach against medical practitioners who don’t fully comply with the national immunisation program also has the potential to contravene informed consent as it creates a culture of fear within the medical profession that informing patients of all the risks and discussing concerns about adverse events could be interpreted as undermining the national immunisation program.
AHPRA states, “practitioners must be careful not to discourage their patient or client from seeking vaccination.”
This broad and unqualified statement fails to allow for the individual circumstances of the patient, who AHPRA has no diagnostic relationship with. There are a wide range of risks among the Australian population that are best assessed by medical practitioners in direct consultation with their patients.
It is unconscionable that unelected bureaucrats are interfering in the doctor-patient relationship and therefore jeopardising the health and safety of those seeking medical care.
