157. Why can AHPRA suspend licences based on hearsay complaints? Why are the complaints able to remain anonymous? I’ve been told Pfizer are lodging complaints against doctors who are writing exemptions. Is this true? 239. Does AHPRA regulation of Australian medical practitioners’ views and medical opinions on Govt. public health policy matters also apply to medical practitioners and forensic pathologists who advise Australian courts/coroners?

Question Number: 12 PDR Number: 12 Date Submitted: 21/11/2022 Department or Body: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency National Boards are responsible for regulating the health professions. Part 8 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as in force in each state and territory sets out actions that may be taken in response to notifications. If a National Board is concerned that there is a serious risk to public safety, or it is otherwise in the public interest, immediate action can be taken (including to suspend a practitioner’s registration) while further enquiries are made. Please refer to our response at Qs 5 and 6 regarding anonymous complaints, and our response to Qs. 8, 9, 10 and 11. Q 239 is a duplicate of Q 12.
