Now is the time for much needed federation and tax form. I have spoken on this ad nauseam, but to put it bluntly – if we can’t successfully address the vertical fiscal imbalance of our federation and reaffirm Commonwealth-State responsibilities following the COVID-19 economic crisis, then it never can be done.
With a priority, we must use the goodwill, cooperation and bipartisanship between political parties and levels of government expressed via the National Cabinet to make the federation work for all Australians.
