Albanese and the Premiers have lost control of the energy market

Anthony Albanese and the Premiers have lost control of the energy market.

Their solution is to impose communism style price caps of the price of coal and gas. This will reduce supply and drive prices even higher.

Furthermore, it’s punishes the Queensland people who still own their power stations. Anna Palaszczuk and Albanese has thrown Queenslanders under a bus by restricting what we receive for energy sold to other states.

They are more than happy to throw subsidies at foreign owned renewables while taxing home grown energy.

If you think things are bad now though wait until 2030 when there is even more unreliable renewable energy in the system.

Unlike other states who privatised their power stations, Queensland still receives billions of dollars from their energy assets.

The best way to lower energy prices is to introduce more supply into the market, not remove it.

As I’ve said before the Queensland government should build more turbines at Kogan Creek Power Station which has 400 million tonnes of coal that still belongs to the Queensland people.

The 2017 Finkel Report rated Kogan Creek the cheapest energy in Australia.

The power station is close to the Southern Interconnector so electricity can be sent to the southern states very easily.
