Health officials have claimed multiples times that vaccination has reduced hospitalization and deaths.
Data from the 6 month data trial that Pfizer conducted, actually showed much higher injuries in the inoculation group so this claim has always been false.
I therefore asked for actual figures of vaccinated against the unvaccinated hospitalisations and deaths as a Question on Notice. All I was given was an extremely abbreviated table (see below) showing relative percentages only.
As someone who has spent my working career analysing data the information provided was clearly designed to avoid scrutiny. Overall numbers, age stratification, unknown cases are not provided. As a result it’s difficult to audit this data for quality assurance. No doubt deliberately since it’s been heavily massaged.
However, the Health Department provided just enough information to expose the data as flawed. The percentage of unvaccinated people over 70 who caught Omicron from 15/12/21 and then died is 32.2%.
This seemed high, especially for the Omicron variant which we were told wasn’t as severe as the Alpha variant. Obviously this included “back capturing” and the three week wait until people were considered jabbed so we know overcounting went on.
Throughout the “pandemic” in 2020 Australia had 28,381 cases of Covid (see below for table) and 909 deaths. Of that there were 849 deaths from 3,655 cases for people over 70 or 23%. (Note the death rate below 70 was 2 in a thousand, about the same as the usual mortality rate.) The first variant Alpha was considered the most severe variant.
Note this figure was inflated because of the aged care debacle in Victoria where Dan Andrews effectively locked down aged care facilities leaving many frail sick people suffering Covid without adequate medical attention.
Despite this, the death rate for over 70’s was 23% in 2020. This is 40% lower than the 32.2% claimed to have died from Omicron despite authorities claiming Omicron is a less severe variant. (Note these deaths are “with” Covid not “from” Covid so the figures are exaggerated.)
Long story short, the answer given to me by the Health Department doesn’t stack up.
Paul Kelly should be sacked for how he answered this question. He was busted for providing numbers in response to Questions on Notice that clearly contradicted his own claims. When called out on it all he does is deflect rather than answer the question.
The only valid explanation for this is that people who died within three weeks of being vaccinated were counted as unvaccinated. A dodgy tracking method if ever I’ve seen it.
Kelly’s claim that real world data shows the jab saved people doesn’t stack up. Deaths jumped by 9,000 people in 2021 before Covid was in the community.

Oversimplified answer from Department of Health regarding death rates from Covid. The claim that 1 in 3 unvaccinated people died from Covid was absurd. So absurd it was 40% higher than the Alpha figure.

Death rate for Alpha cases over 75’s was 22% in 2020 Note this included those with comorbidities and was accentuated by the fact Dan Andrews wouldn’t let those with Covid go to hospital where they belonged. By leaving them in aged care he could wash his hands of any Covid deaths by blaming the federal government. This is despite the fact that the country was locked down for two weeks in April 2020 so that hospitals could prepare for the Covid wave.
