Labor thinks it’s funny that I ask for evidence on climate change

Labor are it yet again, caught out being unable to provide evidence on climate change.

Despite mentioning climate change on multiple occasions throughout RRAT estimates, when I asked for further evidence on what exactly this mysterious climate change is, all I got was a clown show from the circus otherwise known as the Labor party.

It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious. Our taxes, energy bills and environment are no laughing matter.

Senator RENNICK: You mentioned that there is lots of evidence for climate change. Can you table that, please?

Senator Watt: Every estimates: you and me.

Senator RENNICK: Murray, they were your words to Senator McDonald. All I want you to do is to table the evidence. Have you got it or haven’t you?

CHAIR: Are there any further questions?

Senator RENNICK: I have more questions to go.

Senator Watt: Can I answer? I refer you to the raft of evidence of climate change—

Senator RENNICK: It’s a raft, is it?

Senator Watt: Reams of evidence. Choose whatever word you want to choose that means ‘enormous’. An enormous amount of evidence has been provided by this committee, BOM, Climate Change and Energy.

Senator RENNICK: You can’t rely on the BOM; you know that.

Senator Watt: You just don’t believe it. It’s not okay to be a climate change sceptic. You don’t believe the evidence. It doesn’t matter what we produce; you don’t believe it.

Senator RENNICK: Can I say—

Senator Watt: Because you’ve got some law of thermodynamics or something.

Senator RENNICK: Science isn’t a religion. It’s not something you believe in.

Senator Watt: No, I agree.

Senator RENNICK: It’s something you understand.

Senator Watt: I agree.

Senator RENNICK: That’s why I am asking you to provide me with the evidence, combined with the algorithms of thermodynamics.

Senator Watt: Go back and look at the enormous amount of evidence.

Senator RENNICK: You can’t answer it? Thank you.
