FEATURED NEWS

Shouldn’t gain-of-function research be monitored?

They can’t be allowed to get away with it.

“On February 1, 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Francis Collins, and at least eleven other scientists convened a conference call to discuss COVID-19.1 It was on this conference call that Drs. Fauci and Collins were first warned that COVID-19 may have leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China and, further, may have been intentionally genetically manipulated.

Only three days later, on February 4, 2020, four participants of the conference call authored a paper entitled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” (Proximal Origin) and sent a draft to Drs. Fauci and Collins.

Prior to final publication in Nature Medicine, the paper was sent to Dr. Fauci for editing and approval.

On April 16, 2020, slightly more than two months after the original conference call, Dr. Collins emailed Dr. Fauci expressing dismay that Proximal Origin—which they saw prior to publication and were given the opportunity to edit—did not squash the lab leak hypothesis and asks if the NIH can do more to “put down” the lab leak hypothesis.

The next day—after Dr. Collins explicitly asked for more public pressure—Dr. Fauci cited Proximal Origin from the White House podium when asked if COVID-19 leaked from a lab.

New evidence released by the Select Subcommittee today suggests that Dr. Fauci “prompted” the drafting of a publication that would “disprove” the lab leak theory, the authors of this paper skewed available evidence to achieve that goal.”

In estimates I asked Paul Kelly what Australia is doing about monitoring gain of function research.

As usual I get the usual brush off but this issue can’t be allowed to go away.

There is overwhelming evidence that the Covid virus was engineered and leaked from the Wuhan lab which was funded by money under the control of Anthony Fauci.

Australia has an involvement in the lab leak cover up as the main author of proximal origins was Professor Edward Holmes who receives taxpayer funded research grants.

Professors Holmes worked closely with Fauci to cover up the lab leak origins of the Covid.

I’ve attached a link below to an informative website that reveals how intelligence agencies and health bureaucrats sought to cover their tracks about a virus created by them.

They must be held accountable.

Senator RENNICK: I’ll follow up with one more question about that. ‘If you’ve got a problem, let’s let every other country know about it.’ Does that also apply to gain-of-function research? We’ve got clear evidence now from the US Congress that Anthony Fauci hid emails. Originally they seemed to think that the COVID-19 virus leaked from a lab in China, and they changed their story two weeks later and then started accusing anyone else who was saying it was a gain-of-function lab leak of being a conspiracy theorist. It now turns out that those emails have been uncovered. There’s Kristian Andersen and a number of people, including our own guy here. Are we committed to sharing information and other countries sharing information on gain-of-function research? My fear is that, while this gain-of-function research is not being monitored properly, we run the risk of another virus leaking or a gain-of-function getting out. Was that discussed at all when these treaties were discussed?

Prof. Kelly: There are a number of things there. I’ll try to unpack that question because there are some important points you’ve made there. Firstly, as a sovereign nation, what Dr Fauci says, what the US says, what the US Senate looks to uncover in relation to this, is a matter for the US.

Senator RENNICK: It’s not if this virus came from a lab leak in China and has gone across the world.

Prof. Kelly: The hearings—and I’ve been following them closely as well—happening in the US at the moment are a matter for the US, and it’s a matter for Dr Fauci to talk about his involvement there. In terms of gain-of-function research, I’m not sure that the NHMRC is here, but we can return to that if they’re not. There was work commissioned to the NHMRC—and we’ve talked about that before with you in this forum—around gain-of-function research a few years ago when this came up as an issue. I’ll leave it to the NHMRC to talk about what happened with that, and recent discussions actually we’ve had within the NHMRC structure and with chief health officers around gain-of-function research. The third thing is the origin element. The Australian government’s view still on the origin of the COVID-19 virus has not changed. There is a WHO led international independent examination of those theories—and they are still theories—and we await the conclusion of those investigations. But, at the moment, that’s an open question. It’s theory and, as you say, there’s more information coming and we’ll watch that closely.
