What are the rules by which we will be controlled?
Not that I support any kind of censorship, but does the Government plan to disclose exactly how they intend to arbitrate what is misinformation and what isn’t.
Of course not, because just like the Health advice with Covid or the 40 different models to calculate Net Zero they will make it to suit their purpose.
For our Government it’s never been about the truth, it’s only about control.

Senator RENNICK: That leads to my next, and last, question. Should those codes and the algorithms used to censor people be more transparent?
Ms Bennett : Yes. We would certainly suggest that, yes. The situation at the moment is that there is no clear sign of how decisions are made by those companies—

Ms Bennett : in relation to what is happening.
Senator RENNICK: Yes. Fact checkers. I agree.
Ms Bennett : What’s in? What’s out? What are the algorithms? What are the decision-making points? We want greater transparency on that. This bill does potentially elevate that. We perhaps suggest it’s not—
Senator RENNICK: Many of these fact checkers are actually contracted by the social media companies. They aren’t Australian either.
Ms Bennett : Yes.
Senator RENNICK: They’re in another country, and it’s often on another topic or another context.
Ms Bennett : Yes. Agreed.
