Why is Labor changing the Family Law Act?

In the Senate I spoke against Labor’s changes to the Family Law Act, in particular the removal of presumption of shared responsibility and the need for a child to have a meaningful relationship with both parents.

There is no doubt Labor wants to make it harder for fathers to be able to see their children.

It’s important to note that the presumption of shared responsibility does not apply if violence or intimidation is an issue.
