Our financial statements are published annually and audited by the Victorian AuditorGeneral’s Office. The most recent is part of the 2021/22 Annual Report which is accessible from the Ahpra website – https://www.ahpra.gov.au/Publications/Annual-reports/AnnualReport-2022/Finance.aspx

When designing the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme, First Ministers decided it would be a self-funding scheme. The primary source of funding for the scheme is registration and application fees paid by health practitioners. The annual registration fees for 2022/23 are published on our website. We do not receive ongoing or regular funding from any state or territory government, or from the Commonwealth government. On occasion, we receive government grants for a specific project. For example, in our 2021/22 Annual Report, we report on a grant provided by the Commonwealth Government to support Ahpra to increase the pool of appropriately trained health practitioners registered and available to work in COVID-19 related roles, or to backfill where needed. This resulted in standing up the pandemic sub-registers which allowed eligible, recently retired health practitioners to be returned to the sub-registers at no cost to the practitioner, to help in areas of need.
