FEATURED NEWS

We’re paying for trees to be planted that mother nature has already grown

In estimates I asked the Environment Department why they are paying farmers to lock up their farms and grow mulga trees.

Since the Peter Beattie government banned pushing mulga it has pushed out the native grasses and destroyed the ground cover.

Aborigines used to do regular burn offs, allowing native grass to grow.

Mulga should be pushed regularly in order to keep an healthy layer of ground cover. Instead the muppets in Canberra are going to actually destroy the environment in the name of protecting it.

As farmers lock up their paddocks, the number of feral dingoes, cats, goats and pigs will start to increase destroying the ground cover and native wildlife even more.
