Senator RENNICK: Mr Comley, congratulations on your new role.

Mr Comley: Thank you.

Senator RENNICK: What are your medical qualifications?

Mr Comley: I don’t have any clinical medical qualifications.

Senator RENNICK: So you have never worked in a hospital or a front-end hospital, or anything like that?

Mr Comley: No.

Senator RENNICK: What salary have they put you on?

Mr Comley: My salary is publicly available through the Remuneration Tribunal determination.

Senator RENNICK: Can you provide that?

Mr Comley: The determination is around $850,000.

Senator RENNICK: How many staff are in the department of health?

Mr Comley: We covered that off in the previous outcome; around 5,500 staff.
